Job Posting – Temporary Fulltime Position

Full Throttle Furnace & Duct Cleaning Inc. is now recruiting mature, motivated individuals to join our furnace and duct cleaning team! This position is a temporary (4-6 months), fulltime entry level position with a possible opportunity for fulltime employment. No experience necessary. Candidates must be reliable, customer service driven, eager to learn, friendly and comfortable dealing with customers and able to handle physical labour. You must be a responsible driver with a valid drivers’ licence, be well organized and work with minimal supervision. A criminal record declaration will also be required. Drug and alcohol testing will also be required from time to time to comply with industrial site regulations.

Furnace and Duct Cleaning Technician – Job Description

Title - Furnace and Duct Cleaning Technician

Reports To - Clint Orr - President

Summary
The Furnace and Duct Cleaning Technician will be required to perform tasks involving physical labor at residential sites and commercial/industrial sites, and will be required to operate a variety of hand and power tools. Responsibilities will include the preparation and cleaning of ductwork, clean-up. All training will be provided.

Job Duties
  • Provide quality air duct cleaning and related services to customers.
  • Responsible for maintaining a valid license, clean abstract, safe driving, proper care and maintenance of van.
  • Survey and complete pre-inspection of ducts and inspection after each duct cleaning job.
  • Set up and clean-up of equipment and tools.
  • Clean air ducts, vents, returns, runs and handling unit blower motor, coils and outside of unit.
  • Clean up excessive debris
  • Open vents and returns
  • Cover vents and returns
  • Assist in cleaning of air ducts
  • Plating, taping and plugging all holes
  • Assist in cleaning, organizing and restocking truck daily
  • Central vacuum cleaning
  • Air exchanger cleaning
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, guidelines and duct cleaning procedures.
  • Other duties as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s licence (driver’s abstract is required at employee’s expense)
  • Criminal Record Check with signed declaration
  • Alcohol and drug testing will be required from time to time to comply with mandatory industrial site requirements
  • All training will be provided – no experience necessary
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures preferred
  • Knowledge of First Aid and CPR preferred
  • Effective verbal and listening communications skills

  • Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary for invoicing

Work Conditions
  • Job requires ability to work with tools and materials.
  • Lifting of equipment.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 130 lbs for 50 feet is required.
  • Standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Exposure to dust.
  • Use of the following personal protection equipment is mandatory: steel toed boots/shoes (steel cannot be showing); safety glasses, gloves and ear plugs.
  • Use of the following personal protection equipment may be required from time to time including, but not limited to: hard-hat, reflective vests, fall restraints.
  • Occasionally works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects.
  • Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
  • Noise level is generally loud.
  • Regular working hours are Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:30 – 5:00, however, occasional weekend and evening work will be required.
  • Paid overtime may be required from time to time.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Travel within the province may be required from time to time to accommodate our out of town customers (maximum radius is typically 250 KMs).
  • Select health and safety training is mandatory and will be provided.
